Jessica + Matt {San Francisco}

San Francisco, engagement photographs of Jessica Spenchian + Matt Eade taken by Cameron IngallsJessica and Matt welcomed me into their neighborhood, home and hearts. I love San Francisco’s architecture and was excited to start our shoot in their livingroom. We made our way to their rooftop, back to their bedroom and finally finished out at one of their favorite parks. I love their life and was honored to experience it on such an intimate level.

Emily + Meeko {Tiburon}

 Tiburon, wedding photographs of Emily + Meeko taken by Cameron Ingalls Emily and Meeko had their beautiful San Francisco bayside wedding in the Old St. Hillarys Church on a Tiburon hilltop. Emily is a graphic designer, owns an Etsy shop called Frenchie & Flea and because of her profuse skills everything about her wedding had her talent laden fingerprints all over it. One of her bridesmaids hand made all of the hairpieces and also has a Etsy shop called Untamed Petals. Working with the bridesmaids felt like an Anthropology catalogue photo shoot.

Basically it was an out-of-control day filled with love and beauty. I took gobs of pictures and I want to show you all of them, but you will have to settle with just some of my favorites. ;)

mywedding.com; Featured Engagement {Emily + Meeko}

 mywedding.com; featured engagement. photographs of Emily + Meeko taken by Cameron Ingalls mywedding.com did an excellent feature on a beautiful San Francisco engagement session I did recently of Emily + Meeko. Check out some fun pictures we took exploring their neighborhood in South Beach and read all about their sweet little love story! Click on mywedding.com.

The last question in their interview is about me and the engagement session process. It is cool to hear how much they enjoyed getting their pictures taken especially because Emily swore that she wasn’t going to do well. I gave them my normal pep-talk over some pints at an Irish pub and they were good to go! It is my mission to photograph couples just as they are (in all of their true beauty) and to capture them as comfortably and creatively as possible. Emily’s response to this question is exactly why I do engagement sessions complimentary with every wedding collection booked!

Tell us something about your photographer, Cameron Ingalls, that you just loved!
Ok, Cameron is the MAN and I'll tell you why. Meeko and I are so unphotogenic and awkward. We were ridiculously nervous about taking pictures and thought for sure they would all turn out goofy and weird and...well...AWKWARD. BUT THEY ROCKED!!!! And it's because Cameron was hilarious and made us laugh and totally took the edge off....we all embraced the awkwardness and went with it. HAHA! It was actually really, REALLY fun hanging out and shooting together. And now we are actually going to be able to relax with the camera around on our wedding day. The engagement shoot was a great way to break the ice!”

Emily + Meeko {San Francisco}

engagement pictures of Emily + Meeko photographed by Cameron Ingalls in San Francisco, CAEmily + Meeko took me on a big city San Francisco adventure around their neighborhood in North Beach. We ventured over to a Irish pub to loosen their nerves a bit with a stiff pint and sweet conversation. We explored alleys, parks, and a basement record store. They are such beautiful people inside and out. Emily is an awesome graphic designer and owns a business called Emily B Design. She found me after I photographed a couple of her close friend’s weddings. Seriously can’t wait to travel back up the coast to shoot her wedding in Tiburon; just North of San Fran!

Alex + Michelle {Engagement, San Francisco}

I live in a mellow little town called San Luis Obispo (SLO). When I meet a perfect stranger and they ask me where I live, I describe San Luis as being halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. (Usually with the visual aid of hand motions and finger pointing.) We small town folk here in San Luis, therefore, refer to San Francisco as {The City}. Having put that out there, I can now properly continue with Alex and Michelle.

Like many of my couples Alex and Michelle booked me by way of a referral from a good photographer friend and then through phone and email contact. Our trip to The City was our first in-person encounter. We really enjoyed our time together!

I showed up at their place and Michelle handed me my itinerary. She had map-quested 3 locations that played a special part in their relationship. This bride is organized! I felt like I was on a reality show about my job as a California wedding photographer and I had my list of assignments with unknown future obstacles to overcome.

We started out at their apartment complex just outside San Francisco for some engagement pictures and shots with their new son, Jordan. He was so smiley and easy to photograph! Then we explored this little spot called Treasure Island which unfortunately wasnt as pirate-y as it sounded. Then we drove to the top of this hill that supposedly overlooks the whole of San Francisco, but all we could see was grey fog. Lastly we drove downtown to the bar where they had met years ago and it was unfortunately shut down. They were bummed, but we got some cool shots after sunset in a random alley. It all worked out and by the end of the night I had accomplished our mission, to capture little glimpses of Alex and Michelles intimate relationship. Lets just say, I certainly didnt get voted off of the show!

My sister Jessica was visiting from Oregon and she came to help Anna and I out. We had an awesome time introducing Jessica to some San Francisco Sushi. On our way back from the restaurant we saw this broken mirror propped up on the sidewalk and I couldnt resist a little self-portrait.
