Jennifer + Patrick {Los Osos}

How amazing is it that this is just 15 minutes from my house?! When I get out there I am always overtaken by the majesty of creation. One of my favorite things if photographing people in front of the natural textures and colors that each season has to offer.

Amelia + Dalmar {San Luis Obispo}

engagement pictures taken in San Luis Obispo by Cameron Ingalls
I love shooting places and people because both are ever changing. Just days after we shot Amelia + Dalmar in this mustard field it was mowed to a crisp. Makes me remember how wonderful it is to catch those moments of young love and anticipation that precede marriage for a lifetime. We walked their dog (a mix of some sort) for a walk and shot in the last little bit of sunshine that we could before we were showered in a blanket of rain. What a beautiful day and couple!

Derek + Katie {Nipomo}

Derek + Katie are straight up rock stars to the core. They are one of the first to have a wedding at the new stunningly beautiful Monarch Club in Nipomo. It had such a classy modern feel with intimate undertones. Derek and Katie are such genuinely awesome people that I feel like I really should have been BFF with these guys since high school or something. They are my kind of people.

Thanks to Sarah Angelique for coordinating it all and being awesome to work with!

Please check out the brilliant trailer of their wedding Video done by Rain Studios. These guys know film making! You have to dig through their website to find it for now; WEDDINGS > VIDEOS > WEDDING TRAILERS.

Can’t get enough of Derek + Katie? Enjoy their engagement pictures!

Me and my Mammoth Adventures

Jeff Newsom took this picture of me for my avatar. I love the way Newsom thinks not just outside of the box; but out of this universe!

I was kidnapped and smuggled to Utah for a week by 11 dudes for Mammoth Men 4. Luckily I was able to escape after a week of revelry, photo-taking, and profuse blog posting. We stayed in an amazing mansion in Park City, Utah. Our activities included snowboarding, tubing, snowmobiling, in-door skydiving, and a little more snowboarding. We were sponsored by a lot of awesome companies to post our adventures daily. We ran some really fun contests for our readers and even a fundraiser for a couple of beautiful non-profit organizations. It was a time of male-bonding, inspiration, and encouragement. Being a part of the Mammoth Men made me want to be a better photographer and an all around better man. Since I’m usually behind the camera I thought it would be cool to show pictures that the guys got of me.

Sean Flanigan poached this Newsom creation. ;) But I’m glad he did because it has such a different feel.

Jory Cordy is such a deeeelight!

Where’s Ingalls?

Michael Norwood is an amazing dude!

A little more Newsom love. Indoor skydiving was harder than the real thing. You had to try not to hit the walls. When I went real-outdoor skydiving all you had to do was try not to hit the ground!
Caught eating ice-cream in the freezer again. ;)

J.C. and The A’pause’stles.

Nate Kaieser’s famous Crazy Booth!

Nice little wake up call… Thanks dudes!

It's good to be a Mammoth Man... I am thrilled to be here! Hanging out with these guys is more fun than running the 100 meter race in the special-lympics! It's amazing how 12 men, a hill full of small children, and inter tubes can go together so splendidly! Go check out my posts on the Mammoth Men Blog to see more of my images from today!

Mammoth Men -Let the awesomeness begin!

I am so excited to be invited as an honorary Mammoth Men… Or man!? Anyways, I'm really excited to go on this crazy man-cation with some of the most awesome photographers! It will be a sight to behold and thus I give you...

What are Mammoth Men?

“twelve photographers (of the wedding and portrait variety) + a giant cabin in the mountains + fresh snow for days + six days of blog readers "choosing our adventure" while we crash upon Park City, Utah = A TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!

the origin of the Mammoth Men:

in the early winter months of 2008, eight celebrated, award-winning and downright awesome photographers from all over the country grabbed their snowboards to ride the mountains of mammoth, california. this marked the beginning of what is now known as…wait for it…the MAMMOTH MEN. what ensued during that getaway was a week filled with adventure, spontaneity, hijinks and storied tales. a bond was forged amongst these men and a commitment made to doing it again, and doing it often!

during 2008, the Mammoth Men hit the road for two more trips. only on these trips, they loaded up 12 men in a Prevost rock star tour bus. on the first trip, they headed up the California Coast for five days of ruckus and shared it on their traffic happy blog. with the success of the first trip notched on their belts, they then ventured into the American Southwest documenting an epic amount of glorious insanity. the blog following continued even after these two trips had ended and garnered media attention in the blogosphere and in magazine publications.

well, the guys are back! in the fourth installment of the MAMMOTH MEN, they are bundling up and heading to the greatest snow on earth - Park City, Utah. watch the mayhem unfold as they shack up in a ginormous cabin and proceed to melt the faces and snow off of the surrounding inhabitants and terrain. with more adventures, more shenanigans, and more camaraderie...more bobsledding?"
it's not just another trip...it's a lifestyle.”

Fall in Love... Workshop!

It’s been a long time coming. I’ve had countless inquiries from photographers all over the stretch of California and beyond asking if and when I am planning on hosting a workshop. Well, here it is; the first ever ‘Fall in love…Workshop!’

I love watching people live their dreams; whatever they may be. I’m a big advocate for faith leaping. For leaving the mediocre and boring life behind. For risking all you’ve got to live the life you were meant to live. I guess it’s because I was once a dream filled young man who believed with trembling faith that I could maybe -just maybe live out the dream that God put in my heart to be a wedding photographer. Almost 7 years later looking back at all that I’ve accomplished, all the people I’ve met and fallen in love with, all of the weddings I’ve had the honor of photographing, it is safe to say that I have been living my dreams. And what an amazing adventure it has been!

The funny thing is, no matter what humongous dream you accomplish there is always another one on the horizon waiting for you to look up and stare it in the face. I guess a dreamer without any more dreams wouldn’t be a dreamer anymore. After guest speaking at Jose Villa’s amazing Mexico workshop last November the workshop seed was planted. I just loved the time I was able to spend one-one-one with the attendees talking about their hearts, lives, and careers. It was a refreshing and inspiring experience to say the least.

After many months of brainstorming and dreaming with my wife, Anna, we are ready to share what we have been given. In just 2 months we will host a one day wedding photography workshop here in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California. Everybody is welcome, but space is limited to keep it intimate. We will share our hearts, our lives and our business with 7 people/businesses. We are going to encourage, inspire and teach our attendees to build a successful business that will last. We will address branding + marketing, shooting in RAW using natural light, post-processing using Adobe Lightroom, finding your voice, advertising + magazine submissions, working with your spouse, and most of all how to connect with your couples so that you can get awesome real-life images of emotion, beauty and love. I will lead an afternoon engagement shoot at Holland Ranch for a couple that has booked us for their wedding this summer.

Details:
-May 4, 2009
-8:30 – 6:00
-Meals included
-Bring gear for afternoon engagement shoot
-$650 per person. Business Partner rate: $1,000.
-Spaces are limited to a small group (7 people or businesses) to keep the class intimate.
-To register email me right away, cameron@cameroningalls(dot)com, with the subject line ‘Fall in love…Workshop!’

Joel Flory {Featured Artist -Jackson's Smile}

I have never met {Joel Flory} in person, but I know that if I did, we would be fast friends. He went to college in my home town and I’ve heard nothing but sweet goodness about him. Must be why he was so eager to donate images to support Jackson Smile. These gorgeous images are from his trip to Patagonia, which until now, I thought was just a clothing company. Who knew?! Buy a print… give the gift of smile!

*A portion of the proceeds will go directly to support more kids like Jackson at the Craniofacial Center at the {Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas}.

2 Years and Counting!

Today marks Anna’s and my two year Anna-versary! This is what we look like after two long years of love and marriage. Pretty good, huh?!

We have so much enjoyed learning the way of love through the adventures and trials that have graced our path so far. People always say ‘the first years are the hardest’, or ‘marriage is hard’. I just think that life is hard. Life is good, but it can be hard too. Selflessness is what’s really difficult. That’s where the hardness is at! I can be such a selfish person. (especially when I’m hungry and tired ;)

Two years ago we committed our hearts and lives to one another. Making that commitment felt amazing that spring day with the sun shinning and our family and friends gathered in that green meadow out in the back hills of Arroyo Grande. However, living that commitment day-to-day can hurt… It can hurt my pride and my selfishness. But that’s why making a commitment is so amazing because when feelings and emotions turn ‘the love boat’ into a love-roller-coaster the commitment is the track that keeps us grounded and moving forward.

So I am thankful for these couple of years. They have been good, they have been hard at times, but mostly a whole heck of a lotta fun! Anna is my bestest friend in the world, the love of my life and the wife of all my days. I am thrilled that I get to ride this roller-coaster-love-boat side by side with the lovely Anna Ingalls. Thanks my bride for saying ‘yes’ two years ago and thanks for saying ‘yes’ every day since.

If you haven’t experienced any of our wedding memories yet, check out our slideshow, our Super 8 Film and even some sweet medium format shots!

Jim + Lori {Paso Robles}

I loved shooting at Eagle Castle Winery. It was like a semi-fairy tale. Jim and Lori’s wedding came complete with castle, battle armor and moat; which the owners wanted to fill with live alligators! How awesome would that be?! Too bad the county turned them down on the gators. ;)

Sarah + Brian {Engagement, Nipomo}

engagement pictures of Sarah and Brian taken by Cameron Ingalls in Nipomo, CATaking engagement pictures for Sarah and Brian was just as exciting as a field trip to a fifth grader. I met up with them at Brian’s parents house nestled in the Nipomo foothills -where the wedding will take place in the Spring. It was so amazing to explore a little part of the world that I typically only see from my drive along the 101 freeway. We hoped on a couple of ATVs and rode through their avocado ranch and over the foothills to where cars don’t typically venture. With my camera slung over my shoulder and a grin stretching ear to ear, we raced up and down dirt roads and into a gorgeous wonderland!
