Brooks + Dunn {San Luis Obispo}
So when I twittered that I was shooting Brooks and Dunn the other day I found out who were die hard country music fans by the twitter and facebook responses! One girl in particular was heartbroken that I didn’t shoot the real Brooks + Dunn. Nope, it was even better; Calli and Tyler! I usually don’t last-name people here… but I have to this time. ;)When I asked them where they wanted to go for pictures they said that they wanted to trespass and explore the beauty of the off-beaten path. So, I took them to this old insane asylum that I like to shoot at every now and again. We started off innocently shooting around the old brick asbestos filled building. That was… until we found an open window! I had never actually gone into the building until that day. It was amazingly run down and kinda creepy; but a lot of fun!
Some don’t get it when I get excited about photographing people in run down urban places. But I also get just as excited to shoot them in natural settings. You see –it’s all about contrast. The softness of their flesh, the emotion of their love against a backdrop of man-made brick and plaster. Even better when it’s all falling apart! I appreciate the same contrast I get from the images where the people pop off of a background of nature. It’s all just pretty awesome to me.

Wow, I'm amazed at the light you got in the building- granted I've only been inside at night, with flashlights nonetheless. Nice shoot!
Sweet shoot Cam! I'm diggin' the asylum pics!!
Ah, so THIS is the B&D you were talking about! I'm still sad that you pulled one over on me so easily, but I <3 these pics! They are seriously beautiful :)
Andrea... Haha! You were the girl I talked about in the post being so sad. :(
I just shot there to! Just don't say in there to long (Asbestos) nice pictures dude!
I have to admit....I was a little heart broken too.....until I saw these amazing photos! The place you shot was a little creepy...but awesome! (I think those two words can go together...)
Out of the park, homer! with the 4th one. Is that a fireplace or what?
Cameron, I am totally loving this shoot. What an amazing place, but definitely eery. :) I love the shot with the doors open and the tilt shift action. Great lighting to and colors. Just awesome. :)
I went to hs with Calli. She is such a doll... congrats to the two of them!
These are awesome! What a great location! Love them!
I love the graffiti on the inside of the asylum, it really does show off the contrast. Also, I'm just a big fan of graffiti.
Cameron, you never fail to impress. Hollywood couldn't create a better backdrop. I'm loving the composition and exposure. You're the man!
