Introducing The Wedding Standard!

I am thrilled to launch the newest service of Cameron Ingalls, Inc. Allow me to introduce all of you to The Wedding Standard. This new wedding website will be a resource for my clients to find all of the most awesome wedding professionals on the Central Coast and beyond.

After being in this industry for almost 6 years I have had the privilege of working with some amazing artists and top-notch venues, all of whom, I would love to introduce to my clients. This is strictly a grass roots sort of resource where I will do my best to share about the many quality vendors who have been raising the standard of excellence in this crazy wedding industry. This is not a place for advertisements. I wont get paid to interview and showcase anyone’s business. I will only interview businesses because I, and their clients, have been impressed with their work and professional standards. These interviews will help you hear the heart behind the names and cause you to make a more informed decision when it comes to booking your wedding professionals. Enjoy!

Kenji + Tene {Wedding, The Cliffs Resort, Pismo Beach}

Saturday was so hot in San Luis that by the time I arrived to Kenji and Tenes wedding at The Cliffs Resort I was thanking them for choosing a sea-side setting for their event. The air was refreshing and the sun was shining, It was a perfect Central Coast wedding day! Anna is the coordinator at The Cliffs and really makes it a joy to not only work there, but especially to get married there. We really had such a fun day working with so many awesome wedding pros.

The wonderful Lori Boe arranged the flowers. Youve gotta love the calla lilies as well as the bold colors!

The Cakery brought the love and the sugar.

DJ Mel -The 5 Footed Filipino was rocking the dance floor. The last wedding we did together was in Cancun, Mexico last December. If you want a club-style DJ, then Mel is your guy!

Philip + Alicia {Engagement, San Luis Obispo}

Philip and Alicia simply requested yellow flowers. Easy peasy! They are all over San Luis Obispo this time of year. I took them to one of my favorite trespassing spots. We had fun getting lost in the wild mustard flowers. By the end of the engagement session Phil thought that modeling would be a pretty fun career. I tried to tell him that real modeling is way harder than hanging out with me for an hour in a bunch of pretty weeds. He still might just go after it anyways. ;)

My wife laughed when we looked at this picture. She says that I look like a bird arching my back and cocking my neck when I take pictures. You be the judge.

P.S. Philip and Alicia are not really farmers.

Luke + Jen {Engagement, Big Sur}

Take a beautiful afternoon drive up the California 1, hike to a waterfall through the wild of the Big Sur national forest, hang out with a fun couple and take their pictures, have an tasty dinner at Nepenthe overlooking the Pacific ocean and you get a typical day with me at work. Well, I guess I dont do that every day. ;) But thats what is so exciting about my job, I never know where the next couple will take me.

Luke and Jen were a lot of fun to hike and dine with! They have a real sweet relationship full of care and amazing compassion for one another. They had their heart set on a waterfall located at the Big Sur Lodge in Pfeiffer state park. We walked a mile or so and found the waterfall to be not as grand as we expected. Regardless, we got great pictures of them along the way. It was a great adventure!

Gary + Deedee {Wedding, San Luis Obispo/Pismo Beach}

What I love about looking through a couples pictures just after the wedding is that they are really my memories too. I was there for the moments therefore I feel a part of those moments. While I was looking through Gary + Deedees pictures I kept laughing and enjoying all of the fun memories that we shared together. Im really glad that Im a photographer. ;)

I learned during the engagement session that Gary and Deedee really arent the sappy romantic types. However, regardless of how silly they are, when it came to getting married they just couldnt avoid being romantical. We were lucky enough to steal a few sweet moments.

Garys dad was his best man. I love his white hair; what a stud!

The fabulous Jenny McNiece did the stunning floral arrangements. Deedee attached a photograph of her mother and also her grandmothers ring to the bottom of her bouquet.

The wedding was held at the Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. Since the Mission is right downtown we were able to hit up a few of my favorite spots for pictures.

The cocktail hour and reception were at the Shore Cliff. The theme was Martini Party. They had gift bags for all of the couples with two martini glasses and a shaker; Simon and I even got a bag; we felt really loved!

Virgin-choco-la-tini?

Family cake cutting.

Im not even sure if I should these last couple of pictures, but these are my memories too so why not?! At most every wedding I shoot there is always (that guy) who wants to grab my camera and take a couple of pictures of the photographer. Well, this wedding (that guy) happened to be Deedee. She probably took 50 shots before she gave up the camera. The moment I started shaking it like a Polaroid picture I got harassed/sandwiched on the dance floor by a bridesmaid and a couple of guests. What an party!!!

Ben + Min {Engagement, San Luis Obispo}

Ben and Min were a lot of laughs. Literally, Ben couldnt stop laughing most of the engagement session. He is somewhat of a character, which is probably why Min adores him. When Ben wasnt cracking up he was pulling cool-guy faces. He works for the company that created World of Warcraft. I think that explains a little about his personality. ;) Min is as sweet as can be with plenty of spice. She definitely has a strong enough personality to compliment and balance Ben out. They are an awesome match. Cant wait for the wedding!

Oh yeah, speaking of the wedding, Bens uncle Paul manages Swallow Creek Ranch which is my all time favorite venue ever. I think Ben and Kims wedding will be the only one there this year since they are closed for remodeling.

Marcus + Laura {Wedding, Inn at Morro Bay}

Marcus and Laura were such a joy to capture! From their apple orchard engagement pictures to their windy Morro Bay wedding, I have grown to really like them!

The wedding and reception took place at The Inn at Morro Bay. Other than it being cold and windy enough for the bridesmaids to fight to keep their dresses down, the day really was perfect. Marcus and Lauras love was evident in the profound romance that was weaved throughout the fabric of the day. Marcus gifted Laura with a silver starfish necklace which tied into the theme of their wedding. A guy that can appropriately buy jewelry for his lady is doing pretty darn good; Laura loved it! Laura wrote Marcus a amazing poem and had it printed out and framed also in line with their wedding theme.

Flowers to You by Jessica did a fab job on the bouquets and arrangements. Laura said she was such a pro to work with. Warning: Jessicas flower knowledge and passion can be a bit overwhelming to the common man. Great work Jess!

Ive been friends with Bryan Mclain for years and this was the first wedding that we had the pleasure of shooting together. Bryans ninja-like-unobtrusive-videography skills were in full effect. I cant wait to see the final product!

Marcus made the whole audience burst out with laughter at the end of the wedding. When the officiant told them to turn to face their guests he pulled the stiffest military turn as if someone shouted, ABOUT FACE! You just had to be there.

Marcus older brother gave perhaps the longest best man speech I have yet witnessed. Because he is a highschool history teacher he broke down his relationship to Marcus in four parts. I know that lined paper looks like it should take no more than 5 minutes, but seriously I think he expanded a bit and found a few baseball themed bunny trails to wander down. He talked about how Marcus went from being a tag-along little brother to a best friend and someone that he looks up to even today. Really heartwarming and--- really long! ;)

During the reception Marcus and his brother shared their karaoke skills by performing a classic Guns N Roses song. Was it Paridise City?

Laura knew how to keep the party going.

Gary + Deedee {Engagement, San Luis Obispo}

Gary and Deedee drove down from San Jose for a lovely afternoon engagement/family photo shoot. Having family in Morro Bay has made this area a favorite vacation spot for them. It makes sense that they want to get married here at the Mission have their reception at the Shore Cliff in Pismo. San Luis Obispo seems to be a hotspot for destination weddings for people from all over California.

For their engagement/family photos Deedee said they wanted shots with their cruisers and maybe a bit in some yellow flowers. The Bob Jones bike trail is overflowing right now with those mustard flowers, so we drove around Prado road until we found the trail head. We walked what felt like a mile or more until we found the gloriousness of yellow-flower-kingdom.

We had a lot of fun getting to know Gary, Deedee and the boys. They were all so great together and really fun to photograph!

An Eagle Castle Affair

Recently Eagle Castle Winery hosted a Royal Affair for various wedding professionals to get the opportunity to preview this one of a kind venue. It turns out that Eileen, founder of Adornments Flowers, grew up with the owners of Eagle Castle. They went to school together, were in each others weddings, and have remained the best of friends ever since. Eileen and her daughter Laurel from Adornments teamed up with a few Central Coast wedding specialists to make one plain ol Sunday into an enchanted afternoon of wine tasting, hors doeuvres and music.

Gary and his lovely wife Mary Lou, owners of Eagle Castle Winery, served up the tastey hors doeuvres and poured their very own wine. Joe Labarbera from Labarbera Sound was spinning the tunes while my beautiful wife and I cruised around capturing details and people. The Cakery rocked the most royal cake Ive ever seen and of course Adornments provided the beautiful display of flowers and decorations. Thanks to everyone for making this event possible!
