Paul + Ginny {Engagement, Menlo Park}

Paul and Ginny are two cool teachers! They actually teach at the same high school. They have had a large audience of high school students gawking at their budding romance. Unfortunately they do not have the budget to invite all of their students. Sorry kids!

We met up with them in Menlo Park for their engagement session. They took us to a friend’s house which is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and a fun little greenhouse. We explored the terrain and found some amazingly beautiful backdrops for their love story.

I really like these two. They are totally teachers, but totally cool too. If that makes any sense. I remember as a kid thinking my teachers lived in their closets at night. It was always really weird seeing them on the outside. I felt privileged to get to hang with them in such an intimate way. If you are a student of Paul or Ginny be sure to drop them a comment and show them some love!

Some random gnomes we spotted in a pond.

They are getting married in two weeks in Carmel. We are so excited to celebrate their wedding just days after Valentines day!

Anna Ingalls {New Blog}

I am so proud of my wife! A year ago she was a bookkeeper helping over a dozen small businesses get ready for taxes. After we got married 10 months ago she decided to join forces with me. She has picked up photography and it turns out she has a real gift! I am so excited and constantly amazed by her skills. The 805 Collective just finished the design on her blog and released it today. RSS it and give her a shout out of encouragement. I love my wife!

Love Is...

To love a person is to learn the song that is in their heart, and to sing it to them when they have forgotten.
~Anonymous

I spotted this quote on our friends calendar yesterday and it is really powerful. Many people fall in love, but often mistake selfish love for true love. Sometimes we love people for what they do for us, or how they make us feel; not simply for who they are. One of the ways that I knew Anna was {the one} is that she reminds me of who I am. She loves me for me and doesnt allow me to grow complacent and compromise my core values, dreams and convictions. She challenges me to grow into all that God has called me to be and still yet become.

Reporting Live From Texas

This is the house I found myself waking up in this morning. I am in a small Texan town called Huntsville visiting some friends, Eli and Mandy Stewart. My wife Anna and Mandy are best friends from high school days. Ironically enough I photographed Eli and Mandys engagement pictures four years ago when I was just starting out. They moved out here to Texas a couple of years ago to lead a campus ministry at Sam Houston State University. It turns out that we find out over the Holidays when they were home for Christmas that {Cameron Ingalls, Inc.} is big in Texas. Ive always secretly wanted to be a big deal somewhere. Ha... Texas!

So while we are out here hanging with our friends we will try our best to give away what we have been given. A passion of my heart has been seeing people live their dreams. I will do a little workshop and/or seminar for the photo majors that have been following my work. I am excited to share my dream for photography and the story of how God has brought me to the place I am today.

And of course the lovely Anna Ingalls is by my side. I am excited to do this together as a team. Marriage is really great! We love being best-friends, partners and world travelers together.

I look forward to meeting all ya Texans this week!

Adam+Elizabeth {Engagement, Carmel}

It was a rainy day in Carmel when we photographed Adam and Elizabeths engagement pictures. We started off at the beach where it was very stormy and cold. The waves were humongous! I kept telling Adam to think warm thoughts because he kept making freezing faces.

They warmed up to the camera by the time we explored the Carmel Mission for the last of their pictures. There was a wedding going on which added a bit of excitement to the air as Adam and Elizabeth only have about 4 months left.

Thanks for braving the weather with Anna and I! We really enjoyed getting to know you two!

A Little Marital Advice

Being newly married myself, my wife and I ask a lot of people for words of wisdom when it comes to this whole marriage deal. We recently had some {older} friends over from our church for dinner and received a great little word of advice! I wrote an article for mywedding.com sharing the wisdom they shared with us. Check it out!

It is so important to have older couples investing into our lives. We have already learned a lot from our new friendship with the Whittakers! We appreciate that they are willing to encourage and take the time to pour into our new marriage. Thanks guys; we hope we can bless you at least half as much as you have already blessed us!

Paul + Kierna {New Years Wedding, Atascadero}

This is how Anna and I celebrated the New Year! Paul and Kiernas wedding had a whimsical winter wonderland theme. It was straight up awesome! Guests trickled into their 20s styled home around 8:30 to enjoyed appetizers and beverages just like any other New Years celebration.

Laurel from Adornments decked the halls (and rooms) with all of the lovely flowers and decorations. She really knows how to create a mood! Kierna and Laura are childhood friends. I dont usually get to hang with florists at weddings, so it was really fun to see Laurel there through to the end.

At about 10:00 Pauls 15 year old son performed an spectacular magic show. He did a card trick where the couple had to sign the card that they randomly drew from the deck.

He shuffled thoroughly then fanned the cards on the floor to reveal one blue card in a deck of all red cards.

He drew the card and it was their card! After everyone oooooohed and aaaaaahed he mentioned that the card they chose was the 2 of hearts symbolizing two hearts becoming one. He is one smooth kid!

Around 11:45 the wedding ceremony began. The couple was determined to time the first kiss for the stroke of midnight. However, Kiernas father nervously rushed through his lines and finished with about 2 minutes to spare. Everyone waited in anticipation as the bride and groom held hands and nervously laughed. We watched as the 2008 countdown ended in a kiss which began a new life for Paul and Kierna.

It even snowed!

Happy New Years and happy New Marriage!

Renaissance The Book {Perales Wedding}

Now that I am not shooting a wedding every weekend I have time to showcase a couple of the amazing albums we have created this season. Luis + Erika chose Renaissance The {SoHo} Book for their wedding album. To borrow the description from Renaissances website The {SoHo} Book is {A contemporary coffee table album for showcasing full-page prints. Unique and unrivaled in presentation, The SoHo Book uses seamless page craftsmanship to generate its distinctive style. The SoHo book is available in a selection of Silks, Leathers and a Metal Cover.}

When I first met with Erika she knew she wanted a flush mount style book with a smooth black leather cover. What is so amazing about this book is its ability to present a photograph spanning the entire length of the album. Talk about getting the most out of a picture!

Jordan + Courtney {Engagement, Paso Robles, CA}

Weve had such a restful holiday break that shooting engagement pictures the day after Christmas really felt refreshing. There is a certain amount of energy that I receive from being behind the camera. Creativity is this ethereal thing that gives you more when you give a little. But I am getting too deep.

Jordan and Courtney are getting married on this years most popular date; 6/7/08. They will say {I do} at Villa Toscana and then cruise over to Vina Robles for the reception. Vina Robles is a brand new winery in Paso Robles so I am excited to shoot there.

We had lots of fun hanging out for the engagement session. Jordan and Courtney are so beautiful that I couldnt help but get awesome shots. We shot around the Paso Robles park for the first park of the session and then drove to what the local teenagers call {top of the world}. It is the current PR make-out spot which is simply a newly paved road dead ending into an almond orchard that will soon be ripped out to make way for a housing development. We even picked a couple of almonds and they tasted great. Hope you guys enjoy your pictures!
